Amberstone Security becomes security partner for Midcounties Co-operative across its UK heartlands estate

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected and secured a security services contract with the largest independent co-operative in the UK Midcounties Co-operative.

We will be providing numerous security services across their network throughout England with over 300 stores and almost 700,000 members helping to keep customers and staff safe whilst they shop and work.

Amberstone Security impressed during a rigorous tender process, competing against several other UK leading security companies. Our data-driven approach ensures we save our clients’ money whilst simultaneously reducing risk by supplying security officers, crime management services and remote monitoring solutions to the Midcounties stores.

Rupert Newman, Chief Retail Officer at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “The safety of our colleagues, customers and members – that’s why we’re making such a significant investment to help prevent crime occurring in our stores and ensure that when incidents do happen, the perpetrators are held to account.
By using the latest technology and further deepening our relationships with the Police, we are sending a clear message that we have a zero-tolerance approach to criminal incidents that could affect our colleagues, members, customers and local communities.

Dan Hardy, our Managing Director has been heavily involved in initiating the contract since it was awarded in January 2022: “We are delighted to be working with Midcounties Co-op, we’re excited to be supplying multiple security solutions to the largest independent co-operative in the UK.
It’s a huge honour to have been selected, and we are thrilled to welcome the newly recruited Midcounties security team to the Amberstone family. Our team really make the difference – ensuring we have the right people, in the right places, at the right time.”

A recent study indicated that the global guarding services market is expected to grow and be worth $220 billion by 2024. This encouraging news, coupled with our Midcounties Co-operative latest security contract, has the potential to offer vast employment opportunities to UK security personnel.
